Support needed for Cardiac Risk in the Young charity golf day
May 5, 2011

A family tragedy has inspired Ryan Brittain to organise a charity golf day at Henley Golf & Country Club, Warwickshire, on Tuesday, September 6.

Brittain’s stepson Adam sadly passed away in February aged just 23 years and the project manager from TR Fleet wants to raise £20,000 for charity Cardiac Risk in the Young.

“We were completely unaware of Adam having any heart defect, in fact he was healthy, fit, attending the gym every day and was also studying to be a personal fitness instructor, as well as being a full time engineer,” said Brittain.

Records show that at least 12 young people die suddenly with no explanation each week in the UK, but the real figure could be much higher. Further information about the charity and the condition can be found at www.c-r-y.org.uk.

Brittain has already raised £2,500 and is appealing to the fleet industry to support the charity and his fundraising efforts by attending the golf day. Following the golf there will be a dinner, entertainment, a charity auction and raffle.

If anyone is interested in lending their support, they should email ryan.brittain@tr-fleet.co.uk
