Staffordshire golfer Melissa Siviter (Pictured right) has marked her first year at college in America with a card playoff victory in the 2010 Kiawah Island Invitational.
Melissa, from Enville Golf Club, opened the tournament with a three-over 75 and then fired a two-under 70 to finish in a tie for first place. She claimed the title in a scorecard playoff by virtue of a birdie on the fifth hole.
The 20-year-old is a student at Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina. Her team-mate, Carley Warrington from Sickleholme, was 15th in the individual table. The team finished fourth in the event which was hosted by Tusculum College at the par 72 Cougar Point Golf Club.
Meanwhile, Hertfordshire's Hannah Burke had to settle for a share of second place in the Lady Puerto Rico Classic at the Trump International Golf Club, Coco Beach Resort in San Juan.
Hannah, from Mid-Herts and a final year student at Baylor University, Texas, held a one-shot lead going into the final round of the tournament after shooting three-under 69 in the first two rounds. However, she was overtaken by Sweden's European individual champion Caroline Hedwall, a student at Oklahoma State, who was seven-under for the 54 hole tournament (74, 64, 70).
Hannah, who had a third-round 74, finished joint second in a field of 86 players, tied with Spain's Marta Silva (Georgia).
