The Lincolnshire Sports Partnership and the Lincolnshire Golf Partnership are organising a number of golf taster sessions aimed at people aged 45 and over who have never played golf before, or would like to get back into the sport.

The taster sessions are being held at four clubs across West Lindsey, and will begin next week on Monday 21 st June 2010. Lessons will take place at four different golf clubs, on four different days.

The sessions will take place at:

•  Lincoln Golf Centre, Thorpe-on-the-Hill (Thursdays, 6.30pm - 7.30pm)

•  Millfield Golf Centre, Laughterton (Wednesdays, 10.30am - 11.30am)

•  Welton Manor Golf Club, Welton (Saturdays, 11.30am - 12.30pm)

•  Grange Park Golf Club, near Messingham (Mondays, 11.00am - 12noon)

The taster scheme is running for three weeks, and will cost £3.50 per week. A PGA professional from each golf club will teach and provide all equipment for all of the sessions.

Shona Dickson is the County Development Officer for the Lincolnshire Golf Partnership. She said:

"Golf is a game for all ages; sociable, challengeable and rewarding. The taster sessions will be run in a relaxed, but professional environment, with a chance to meet new people and have fun."

Anyone interested in attending the golf sessions, should contact the Lincolnshire Sports Partnership's Over 45's Activator for West Lindsey, Christian Wallis. He is encouraging anyone interested to get involved:

"These golf taster sessions are being aimed at men and women aged over 45, for beginners or those who want to get back into the sport. Golf is a great way to keep fit and active."
