WILLIAMS IGNITES AT LAST

GB & I International Craig Williams returned to his exhilarating best in winning the Welsh Open Stroke Play Championship at Northop Country Park last weekend. A stunning 5 under par last nine holes was just good enough to force last year's Champion Scotland's David Patrick into second place and move Craig to second in the Konica Order of Merit.

Jamie Donaldson continued his recent good form finishing 3rd and subsequently moving to fifth in the Konica Order of Merit table just behind Ian Campbell who played well in the Stroke Play in finishing seventh and Lee Harpin. Neil Matthews still heads the Order of Merit table but like Williams, Donaldson, Campbell, Edwards and Harpin will miss the next event the Carad Trophy as they will be representing Wales in the European Team Championship in Italy.
