DAILY TELEGRAPH
WOMEN
GOLFER OF THE YEAR
Welsh Stars Shine
The
1999 Daily Telegraph Woman Golfer of the Year awards had a distinctly
Welsh flavour. The Welsh team collected the Daily Telegraph Golfer
of the Year title for winning their first Women's Home Internationals
at Dornoch in September, where they drew with England then went
on to beat Scotland and Ireland.
The
Joyce Wethered Trophy for a young player displaying top level amateur
golf education went to 17 year old Becky Brewerton (Abergele), who
won the British Women's Strokeplay and Welsh Womens' Championship
when she was still 16.
