Foursome Championships at La Tournette
On
Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th April, the Château de la Tournette
Golf course in Nivelles was host to the Belgium Foursome Championships.
The doubles Championship was won by an impressive duo composed of
Stefan Boschmans (Rinkven Golf Club) and Regis Delbrassine (Mont-Garni).
The
team had already achieved the best score on Saturday with a 74.
On Sunday they added a fabulous score of 67, 4 under par. Stefan
and Regis won with a 5 shot lead on the team from Rigenee composed
of Patrick Brose and Christophe Descampe.
The
net prize was won by two players from Royal Zoute Golf Club, Oliver
Sheridan and Michel Moerman with a net score of 144.
In
the ladies draw, the first two teams finished tied for the lead
with a score of 164. A sudden death play-off was therefore required.
At the second extra hole, Sylvie Van Molle (La Bruyere) and Valerie
d'Argenbeau (Ardenne) won the title over Maite Heuverswijn (Latem)
and Veronique Verhaegen (Latem).
The
Sisters Valerie and Sophie Fontaine missed the play-off by a single
shot. The Net prize was won by the team from Ravenstein, Diane Emsens
and Sandrine Blaton.
Two
Belgium players participated in the Mens Individual French International
Championships at Seignosse. Regis Delbrassine (Mont-Garni) shot
scores of 76 and 79. He finished in 49th place and did not make
the cut. Frederic de Vooght (Kapelen) shot 76 and 75 with a total
of 151, made the cut. He was then unfortunately beaten in his first
round in Match-Play. The championship was won by French player Sebastien
Brangers.
On
23 April Keerbergen was host to the "Call Center Pro-Am", tournament
on the Belgium PGA Calendar. In the team standings, victory went
to Raf Van Begin with the amateurs : D. Lens, D. Gybels and B. Nicolay.
In the individual Professional standings, Fabien van Damme was the
winner with a score of 69 in front of Raf
Van Begin and Dave Lebrasseur, both with scores of 71.
