EAMONN "STIGGY" HODGSON
DEFENDS HIS TITLE

After winning the IAPS Northern Junior Golf Championships Under 11's event last year at Stonyhurst Golf Club, 8 year old Stiggy successfully defended his title on the 9 hole course at Royal St Lytham & St Annes on Friday 11th June.

Played as an 18 hole gross competition, Stiggy, a guest competitor, scored 40 Stableford points, (gross 76 - par 62) ad not only won the Under 11's age group category but also the Under 12's and Under 13's from a field of 72 boys and girls aged 14 and under. The winner, aged 14, scored 45 points.

This was Stiggy's last major event before travelling to San Diego on 16th July to compete in the 32nd World Junior Golf Championships, an event Tiger Woods won six times as a youngster. Stiggy would like to follow in the great man's footsteps by winning the event at his first attempt.

Unfortunately his family are still seeking sponsors to help cover Stiggy's ever increasing competition expenses, seeking out new challenges. Any potential sponsors should contact Roger Shutt at Tour Pro Management LTD on 01925 - 265065.
