JUNIOR GOLF RECEIVES SPORTSMATCH SUPPORT

 

The injection of £50,000 into Junior Golf by Bowring Sport & Leisure Insurance Services and Royal and SunAlliance has received further support from Sportsmatch, the Government's Business Sponsorship Incentive Scheme for Sport and Physical Recreation.

The sponsorship monies from Bowring/Royal and SunAlliance have allowed the English Golf Union to secure further support for Junior Golf from Sportsmatch of £50,000. The award will be spread over a two-year period with £20,000 allocated in 1999 and £30,000 in 2000.

The sponsorship will give a welcome boost to the English Golf Union's development plans for Junior Golf in England. The monies will be channeled into initiatives to be delivered by the England Junior Golf Partnership which include encouraging golf clubs to accept more junior member sand help develop Junior Club Coaching programmes.
