MATTHEWS RETAINS TOP SPOT

A solid performance in the St. David's Gold Cross earned Neil Matthews 6th place and 45 Konica Order of Merit points. While doing enough to remain at the head of the Konica table, Matthews has had his lead reduced by Lee Harpin who narrowly failed to retain the Gold Cross finishing second to rising Irish star David Jones.

David Ames and Nigel Edwards remain third and fourth in the table while Craig Williams recovering from recent ill health and Matthew Griffiths both made significant moves. Most of Wales top amateurs head for Moortown next week and the Brabazon Trophy (15th/16th May), the next Order of Merit event.
