|
McGregor
Trophy winner, James Heath, has been named in a 10-strong England
Team for the Under 16 International against Scotland at Drumoig
on Sunday 3 October.
The
teenager from Coombe Wood is one of four Under-16 internationals
in the side for what has become an annual fixture between the two
countries.
Heath
played in the 12-3 victory over the Scots in the inaugural match
at Wearside a year ago, as did Craig Stevenson, who is included
again. Stevenson finished runner up to Heath in the McGregor and
represented England in the European Young Masters in Turin last
month.
The
other two Under-16 internationals are Eren Behcet, who was capped
against Italy in June and won the Douglas Johns Trophy at Harewood
Downs last month, and Michael Nester, who also faced the Italians
having been reserve for the Scotland match last year.
The
rest of the team comprises Simon Bell, who finished third in the
McGregor, William Bowe, fifth in the McGregor, Sean Byrne, Scott
Jackson, Jonathan Petrou and Michael Skelton, the 15 year old from
Yorkshire who beat England Boys captain Nick Dougherty on his way
to finishing runner-up in the British Boys.
The
format of the one day contest is five foursomes and ten singles.
Last year England won the foursomes 4-1 and the singles 8-2.
