GLOUCESTERSHIRE BEATEN

GLOUCESTERSHIRE, runners-up to Glamorgan in the Daily Telegraph Channel League last season, were beaten 10-5 by Gwent at Pontypool after being held to a draw at home by Devon in their first match.

They lost all five foursomes, but fought back with some spirit to halve the singles. The Channel League title looks open for grabs this season with Wiltshire, so often the underdogs, sitting on top of the table with two wins to their credit.
