DAVID GRIFFITHS, 19, of West Herts, who won the Daily
Telegraph/Center Parcs Junior Championship last year,
is one of two new caps named in England's team for the Home Internationals
at Royal County Down this month. The other is Mark Side, 23, of
Shirley Park, holder of the Brabazon Trophy.
They will join
an otherwise experienced side who hope to win the Raymond Trophy
for a record seventh consecutive year. Max Harris, the Sussex county
player who is at university in America, will fly back to play in
Ireland, although Paul Casey, the English Amateur champion, Luke
Donald and Philip Rowe cannot get time off from their colleges.
Aran Wainwright,
beaten finalist in this year's Amateur Championship at County Down,
has been recalled to the side, and Graeme Storm, his conqueror,
is also in the party.
