PAYS DIVIDENDS FOR JUNIOR GOLFERS
The
English Golf Union has appointed Bowring Sports & Leisure Insurance
Services, part of the J&H Marsh & McLennon Group as their
new Insurance Partner.
Bowring,
in association with Royal & SunAlliance Insurance who will provide
most of the insurance products, have agreed to inject £50,000
per year for the next five years into Junior Golf in England.
The
sponsorship will give a welcome boost to the English Golf Union's
development plans for Junior Golf in England. The monies will be
channelled into initiatives to be delivered by the England Junior
Golf Partnership which will include encouraging golf clubs to accept
more junior members and help develop Junior Club Coaching programmes.
Bowring
Sport & Leisure Insurance Services and Royal & SunAlliance
Insurance join other prestigious partners of the English Golf Union
such as Footjoy, Lyle & Scott, Ping, Prosimmon, Pro Quip, Strokesaver,
The Daily Telegraph and Titleist.
Commenting
on the latest initiative, Paul Baxter, Secretary of the English
Golf Union said, "We are delighted that Bowring and Royal &
SunAlliance will be joining us as the EGU insurance partner, their
proven expertise will bring a broad range of insurance products
to our membership. Their generous commitment to sponsor Junior Golf
could not have come at a more opportune moment with the formation
of the England Junior Golf Partnership (ELGA, EGU, Golf Foundation,
Sport England and PGA) who developed a much needed strategic plan
for the future development of Junior Golf in England."
Peter
Roxburgh, Director of Bowing Sports & Leisure Insurance Services
also stated, "We are excited about working with the English
Golf Union, as part of our long term partnership, and thereby giving
future benefit to membership".
