ROGER BEAMES KEEPS COOL HEAD AT LUNDIN
TO WIN EAST OF SCOTLAND STROKE PLAY
CHAMPIONSHIP BY ONE SHOT

Having retained his title at the leading amateur of The Northern Open in May, Roger Beames has triumphed at the Bank of Scotland / East of Scotland Stroke Play Championships, beating Peter Whiteford in a nail-biting finish at Peter's local club, Lundin Links in Fife.

Twenty-four year old Roger, who recently relocated from Wick to The Carnegie Club at Skibo Castle, Dornosh, finished ten under par with a final round of 67.

With many more fixtures to play before the Walker Cup, for which he hopes to qualify, Roger will be gathering strength and perfecting skills on Skibo's outstanding Carnegie Links course as he plays with members and guests. His new handicap of plus 3, will guarantee their golfing abilities are tested to the limit.
