ROGER
BEAMES CONTINUES TO PROVE HIS
PROWESS ON THE GOLFING CIRCUIT
Roger
Beames, the up-and-coming Scottish golfer who recently relocated
to The Carnegie Club at Skibo Castle, has triumphed at The Northern
Open - and not for the first time.
By
winning the Bookless Cup for the second year running, the 24-year
old who has a handicap of Plus 2, retains his title as leading amateur
of this tournament.
With
many more dates earmarked in The Scottish Golf Union's fixture list
for 1999, there will be plenty more opportunities for Roger to reaffirm
his reputation as one of Scotland's most exciting young golfing
stars.
Members
and guest of the Carnegie Club, where Beames assist in the Pro Shop
and at The Golf House, will find themselves rubbing shoulders with
a young man who may well prove himself to be the Colin Montgomerie
of the future. They may even be lucky enough to play a few holes
with him on the Club's outstanding natural links course as he practices
for his next championship victory.
