Unmasked by NZ Website
Amateurs in New Zealand who skive off work for a game of golf are
on a collision course with their national golf association.
The NZGA are
currently running an up-to-date website charting the dates and details
of all the rounds played by golfers under their jurisdiction for
handicap purposes.
But the golfers
are not happy at being 'unmasked', especially as the site is
accessible to their employers, spouses and other potentially interested
parties.
New Zealand's
privacy commissioner, Bruce Slane, is investigating the site
(www.golf.co.nz)
and NZGA chief executive Phillip Aickin has promised to
remove playing dates from public view.
The site is
part of the recently revamped handicapping system in New Zealand
in which the best 10 from a player's last 20 rounds are used to
set his or
her handicap
