St Andrews to Host 2004 Amateur

To commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Royal & Ancient Golf Club in 2004, the Amateur Championship will be played at St Andrews, from May 31 to June 5.

This will be the 16th time that the event has been staged over the Old Course, the last time being in 1981, and in 2004 the Jubilee Course will be used as well. Extra prestige will be added to the event as it will coincide with the Duke of York's captaincy of the R&A.

The R&A has also announced that the British Mid-Amateur will be held at
Royal Liverpool in 2004 while the Boys Championship will go to Conwy and
Royal Dublin will host the boys home internationals.
