Alex Smith one of the members of the bronze medal winning Welsh Youth Team, has been selected to represent Wales at the European Individual at the European Individual Amateur Championship in Murhof, Austria.

Leading Wales’ bid for glory will be Jamie Donaldson, Nigel Edwards, Craig Williams and Ian Campbell who currently lie first, fourth, fifth and fifteenth on the JJB / Daily Telegraph British Amateur Order of Merit.

The other players who complete the line up are North Wales’ Lee Harpin, Kyron Sullivan and David Price.

Wales will be looking to one of these players to claim the trophy that has so far eluded them.  Bradley Dredge was runner-up in 1992 and more recently Craig Williams collected the silver medal in 1998 at Golf du Medoc in Bordeaux, France.
