Payne Returns to Amateur Roots

The England amateur squad received a boost last month when European Tour professional Jim Payne visited their training camp at Woodhall Spa.

Payne, who lost only three of his 24 matches for the national side between 1989 and 1991, spoke to the squad about life on the professional circuit.

The training camp was the squad's third and final get-together before next month's match against France at Chart Hills in Kent, and the home internationals at Carnoustie in September.
