Grant Aid for Devon Youngsters

A project to attract more young people to play golf in North Devon has been awarded a grant of £3,000 from the Millennium Awards for All community scheme.

Over the next three years, pupils in 24 primary and secondary schools in the area will receive free coaching from a qualified PGA professional. They will also have opportunities to attend coaching sessions at local golf clubs and play in friendly competitions for beginners.

The project has been organised by the North Devon Junior Golf Partnership which consists of representatives from Chumleigh Community College, Chumleigh Golf Club, North Devon District Council, the Golf Foundation and the PGA.
