Win in Spain for Rebecca

Rebecca Hudson
(Wheatley) beat home player Tania Elosegui in the final of the Spanish
Ladies’ Open Amateur Championship at Club de Golf de Pals to win
the event following her defeat in the 1999 final. With four birdies
she was under par when winning at the 17th by 3 and 1.
An early lead of three holes was cut back to one before she closed
out the match.Rebecca had also led the English Players who won the
Nations Cup in the stroke play qualifying event.A member of the
English Ladies’ Golf Association Elite Squad, Rebecca’s success
is an early reward for the intensive training undertaken by Squad
players in the past year, three of whom were in the quarter finals
of the Championship
