Junior
Golf
The
English Golf Union is committed to the future development of junior
golf in England and works closely with other national organisations
to open up more opportunities for young people to play golf.
As
the governing body for the men’s game, the English Golf Union has
the responsibility to promote and organise the development and encouragement
of Junior Golf in England. This involves the Union in promoting
golf from grass roots development through to World Class performers
who represent England on the International stage.
The
English Golf Union encourages and supports young golfers of all
standards from grass roots level at golf clubs within its Junior
Club Coaching programme to the best young players in the country
through its National Coaching structure. Any young player with the
necessary talent will be recognised through the club, County Union
and National structure and given the opportunity to reach their
potential thanks to the work of the English Golf Union.

English Boys’ Open Amateur Stroke play Championship – Carris Trophy
The
English Boys’ Under 16 Open Amateur Stroke play Championship – McGregor
Trophy
The
English Boys’ Under 14 Open Amateur Stroke play Championship – Reid
Trophy
Results
achieved in certain of these events and other selected tournaments
influence selection for England international representation.
In
their aim to encourage and develop junior golf in England, the English
Golf Union work very closely with the English Ladies’ Golf Association
and other organisations to open up more golfing opportunities for
young people to play golf.
