Death of Former ELGA
Secretary
Marian Carr, who resigned in August after
13 years as secretary of the English Ladies' Golf Association, has died at her home in
Birmingham after a four-year battle with cancer, aged 53.
A former Midland women's champion and
a Worcestershire county player, Miss Carr was the reigning lady captain at Royal St David's
Golf Club in Harlech.
New man at Hanbury Manor Ian McInally has been appointed as the
new director of golf at Marriott Hanbury Manor Hotel & Country Club.
McInally, who joins the Hertfordshire
club from Royal Westmoreland in Barbados where he has been director of golf for the last
three years, qualified as a professional in 1991 when he was PGA trainee of the year.
Born in Fife, Scotland, he worked as
assistant head professional at The Wisley in Surrey before moving to Barbados.
