Beames
Turns Pro
The Carnegie Club's Roger Beames, a former runner-up in the Amateur
Championship, has decided to turn professional.
Beames, who is based at Skibo Castle and will be the club's touring
pro, tees off his pro career on the MasterCard Tour and has his
sights set on joining fellow Scots Colin Montgomerie and former
amateur colleague Alistair Forsyth on the European Tour.
Peter
de Savary, the Carnegie Club's founder and chairman, said: "It's
fantastic to have a young man of this calibre representing us on
tour. We have several of the world's top golfers as members and
I know they'll be delighted, if not a little worried, by Roger's
development!"
