Pomoting Golf for Beginners
Golfing
organisations planning free coaching sessions this summer have the
opportunity to promote
their programmes through a major BBC sports campaign - 'Get Your
Kit On'. A
major database is also being created so that callers can be directed
to their local Golf Foundation
starter centre for a free taster session.
The
main aim of the campaign is to encourage people to 'have a go' and
adopt a healthier lifestyle.
It will include features in children's light entertainment and news
programmes as well
as a specially commissioned programme on the history of the Open
Championship.
All
those who call a special telephone hotline (0208-752-4137) will
be sent a magazine that provides
advice on how to get started. The BBC will also be establishing
a 'Get Your Kit On' website
which will include sections on further education courses and career
opportunities.
To
be included, organisations must arrange four free one-hour sessions
between May and September. For more information, either call the
number above or email communications@golf-foundation.org
