Balls, Please!
The Golf Foundation
will be given 2,000 dozen balls by manufacturers Dunlop Maxfli,
Spalding, TaylorMade, Titleist and Wilson each year from next January.
Mike Round,
executive director of the Golf Foundation, said: "This initiative
underlines the commitment of the golf industry to junior golf. Ball
manufacturers have supported our work for many years and we are
very grateful for their ongoing assistance."
An estimated
50,000 youngsters benefit from the work of the Golf Foundation each
year.
Cliff Dews,
Chairman of the European Golf Inudustry Association and operations
director of Spalding Sports UK, said: "The Golf Foundation
does a tremendous job in attracting young people to golf. We acknowledge
their contribution to the growth of the sport at grass-roots level
which is so important for the future of the game and the future
of our industry."
