THE NATIONAL NINES
GOLF CLASSIC 2000

Just one in a series of exciting competitions designed solely for 9 hole golf clubs - the National Nines Golf Classic 2000 is now open for entries.

The current holders of the title are Listowel Golf Club from County Kerry, Republic of Ireland, who won the 1999 National Final played as Les Ormes Golf Club, Jersey, Channel Islands in September.

Minor changes to the format have been made for the 2000 competition. Teams will now consist of 4 players, with the best 3 scores to count and there will also be an increase in the number of reigonal qualifying competitions.

The team with the highest aggregate at each regional qualifying event will win a place in the National Final to be held at Les Ormes GC in Jersey in September 2000. Flights and accommodation will be paid by the sponsors. There will be prizes for the runners-up at each regional final.

Eligibility: All players must be gentlemen members of a 9-hole golf club with a current handicap.

Format: Stableford over 18 holes (2 x 9 holes) at 3/4 handicap with a maximum allowance of 18. The best 3 scores in the first round (9 holes) will be added to the best 3 scores in the second round (9 holes) to give the team aggregate.

Entry Fee: The entry fee per team will be UKP70 and there will be no restrictions to the number of teams entered by any one club.

Entries close on 31 December 1999.
