THE
NATIONAL NINES
LADIES
INTER-CLUB MATCHPLAY 2000
Another in a
series of exciting competitions designed
solely for 9 hole golf clubs - the National Nines Ladies Inter-Club
Matchplay 2000 is now open for entries.
This is a new
competition for 2000 as a result of demand from 9-hole golf clubs.
There is also a corresponding event for gents.
This gives lady members of 9-hole golf clubs the opportunity to
support their own unique event.
Each club team
will consist of 4 nominated players with 3 playing in each matchplay
tie. Points awarded will be 1 point for a win, ½ for a halved
match and no points for a lost match. The team with the highest
number of points proceeding to the next round. If teams are tied
at the end of the 5th match, then the 5th pair will proceed to the
1st tee and play a sudden-death decider. The winning team will progress
to the next round.
The four semi-finalist
teams will proceed to Jersey for the National Finals in Sepember
2000. All 6 nomincated players will travel and flights and accomodation
will be paid for by sponsors.
In early rounds,
to reduce travelling costs etc, matches will be plyaed at local
and regional levels. It is hoped that clubs will give courtsey of
the course to visiting opponents.

Eligibility:
All 9-hole golf clubs affiliated to the respective county and
national golf unions of england, Scotland or Wales.
Format: Matchplay
at 7/8 handicap - maximum allowance will be 36.
Entry Fee:
The entry fee will be £40 per team. Clubs may enter 1 team
only.
Entries close
on 29 February 2000.
First round
ties will commence in April 2000.
