JUNIOR GOLF TOUR 2000

 

Rules and Regulations

 
  Boys Girls
Age Requirements Amateur boy golfers eighteen years or under on 1 January 2000. Limited to 60 entrants on each Tour on a space available basis. Amateur girl golfers under twenty-one years on 1 January 2000. Limited to 27 entrants on a space available basis.
Handicap Requirements The Junior Golf Tour is a scratch competition but boys must have an official handicap of 9 or below. The Junior Golf Tour is a scratch competition but boys must have an official handicap of 15 or below.
Entry Qualification

To be considered, all entrants must submit the following:

  • completed entry form
  • current handicap certificate
  • card of home course
  • playing record print out (if possible)
  • letter signed by club official confirming good conduct
  • two recent passport photographs
  • first class SAE
  • cheque payable to The Junior Golf Tour Limited for the appropriate amount (boys only)
Caddie Policy No player will be allowed to use a caddie. Spectators will be allowed on the course at the discretion of each venue and may follow a match at a distance, but are prohibited from interfering with pay in any way and must not walk along the fairways or on tees or greens. Any player guilty of communicating with anybody other than fellow competitors of Junior Golf Tour officials during play will be penalised. Each player is responsible for the spectators he/she is associated with.
Rules of Play The R&A Rules of Golf will govern play. Local rules at each course played on the tour will apply. The Junior Golf Tour Rules Committee will resolve all disputes regarding any aspect of tournament play and the decision of the Tournament Director is final.
Etiquette All aspects of golf etiquette must be adhered to at all times. The wearing of visible body pierced rings, the drinking of alcohol and smoking are not permitted, either on or off the course on tournament and practice days. The playing of gaming machines and inter-player gambling, spitting or showing of bad temperament are also not permitted at any Junior Golf Tour venue.
Clothing On Tournament days, each played must wear the Junior Golf Tour clothing, which they will be provided with free. All boys must provide and wear their own navy blue trousers. Any player not wearing Junior Golf Tour clothing on he day of a tournament will not be permitted to play. On Tournament days, each played must wear the Junior Golf Tour clothing, which they will be provided with free.
Player Responsibilities It is the responsibility of every competitor to contact the Tournament Office as early as is possible, should they wish to cancel their participation at a particular event. Unless informed otherwise, it will be assumed that all competitors are available to play at each event. Players must registered a minimum of 45 minutes ahead of their allocated tee times on tournament days. Players must liaise directly with participating clubs during times of inclement weather, which may threaten events taking place and also determine their spike and trolley regulations. Players must take care of and respect the facilities of each host club. It is the responsibility of every competitor to contact the Tournament Office as early as is possible, should they wish to cancel their participation at a particular event once their place has been confirmed by payment having been received by the Tournament Office. General Rules of Play

Boys Girls
1. The best seven gross scores recorded by each boy during the 2000 National Tour, which comprises of ten events, will count towards the final standings. The best six gross scores recorded by each boys during the 2000 Scottish National, Southern and Northern Tours, which comprises of eight events, will count towards the final standings. The best four gross scores recorded by each girl during the 2000 Girls Tour, which comprises of eight events, will count towards the final standings.
2. Competitors will play in three ball matches at each venue.
3. Competition tees will be used at each venue depending upon weather conditions.
4. In the event of a tie at the end of the tour, an eighteen-hole play off will take place at a venue convenient to the tied players.
5. Tee times must be strictly adhered to. All competitors must be on the appropriate tee and ready to play, ten minutes prior to their teeing-off time, failure to do so will result in a penalty.
6. A copy of the local rules for each venue will be made available to each player upon arrival at each course.
7. Practice: Practice round arrangements for the whole year will be given to the successful applicants. Players may practice on the day of the competition only on the official practice ground or on the putting green.
