England’s Alison Waller leads in
Italy after curtailed first round

A one under par 33 for the first nine holes gave Alison Waller the lead at the end of the first days play when lightning caused first a suspension of play then abandonment, only the first nine holes counting.  Torrential rain made any play at all extremely difficult with Waller’s score the only one under par.  England’s Kerry Knowles was two shots behind on 35.
