Marlborough Quartet Wows Woburn

winners Nina Davies, Alan Turnell, Jenny Swift and Simon Futcher

Marlborough Golf Club foursome of Nina Davies, Alan Turnell, Jenny Swift and Simon Futcher this week won the Master of Masters 2013 tournament at Woburn. Facing stiff competition from a strong field of 120 competitors the Marlborough team won with 80 points.

They played on the Duke's Course which is one of the finest inland golfing settings in Europe. It was the location for the British Masters for 20 years and from 2008 is home to the Travis Perkins Senior Masters and other top men's and women's professional events.

Said Jenny Swift: ‘The course had absorbed three inches of rain during the week so it wasn't easy, no run and the greens were challenging but everyone contributed so it was a great combination.

We won vouchers to spend in their Pro Shop and a free round of golf on their Marquis Course for the team in 2014, with lunch – so we can return and enjoy another of their courses. A great win for Marlborough! I can't stop smiling. It was like winning a Major.
