Captains' ‘Drive In' Is A Mixed Affair

6th April 2013
Sheila Hubie and Bryan Arthur

Last weekend saw the Captains' ‘Drive In', the ceremonial handing over of the captaincies for the forthcoming year for Marlborough Golf Club. Bryan Arthur and Sheila Hubie shared the limelight, taking over from John Symons and Ros Rymond.

The team event got under way with a shotgun start under bright sunny skies. The east wind certainly sharpened the appetite but a well-stocked halfway house and some warming food afterwards was more than adequate compensation. First place for the men went to Alan Burch, Phil Lenehan, Dave Lewis and Phil Smith whilst the honours for the ladies team went to Pauline Ruddick, Isobel Henry, Sue Jacomb and Trish King.

Bryan and Sheila have chosen different charities to support throughout the year – the Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Swift Medics. Their year as captain got off to a good start with each one sharing the £950 raised on the day.
