Belton Wood GC free "Taster Sessions"

A LINCOLNSHIRE golf club is helping people take a major step towards getting involved in the sport.

Belton Woods GC has lined up a series of free taster sessions for adults to coincide with the big golfing events of 2012.

Three more sessions are planned for the summer to tie in with the US Open, the Open at Royal Lytham and St Annes and the USPGA championships.

All sessions take place between 1pm and 2pm and include an introduction to golf with all equipment provided.

The dates are

Saturday, June 16 - US Open coaching

Saturday, July 21 - The Open coaching

Saturday, August 11 - USPGA coaching

The club, based near Grantham, is also helping children give golf a go with a special junior coaching session on Wednesday, July 25 (1 - 2pm)

The Lincolnshire County Golf Partnership is a collaboration of a number of stakeholders in the sport including England Golf - the organisation formed by the merger of The English Golf Union and The English Women's Golf Association ­- the PGA, the Golf Foundation and Sport England.

In Lincolnshire it is supported by the Lincolnshire Union of Golf Clubs, the Lincolnshire Ladies County Golf Association and the Lincolnshire PGA.
