Latest Results :

Monday 12th April : Congratulations to Marlborough ladies, Trish King and Sue Tulloh, winners of the first round of the County Foursomes 2&1. Others involved were ladies from Wragg Barn and Broome Manor.

Monday 19th April : Marlborough Ladies had a friendly away match at Cirencester.  Results : Marlborough won 3/1.  The Cirencester ladies provided excellent competition and hospitality so that a most enjoyable day was had by all.  Next match v Wragg Barn, Friday 30 th April.

Friday 23rd April : Marlborough Ladies participated in the first Division 1 League match at Tidworth. Results : Marlborough won the match 3/2 with wins from Nina Davies and Isobel Henry.  The Marlborough team comprised Karen Gosling, Nina Davies, Trish King, Isobel Henry and Pauline Ruddick.

Friday 23rd April : Seniors Captains Charity Day hosted by Graham Jefferies, Seniors Captain.  Winners Les Trute, Alastair Baldwin, Stuart Ross and Graham Rissone. Winners achieved gross 60, net 56.9, which was a terrific result, only pipping 2 nd place team by 1 point.

“To date £800 has been raised for the local National Deaf Children's Society thanks to the generosity of the Marlborough Golf Club members who played in the event.  This is a charity that does not receive a great deal of publicity but plays an enormously important role in providing support not only to the children themselves but also the parents of deaf children. Since we are now able to test hearing in newborn infants you can imagine the impact on parents when told their child has abnormal hearing at this very early stage, but on the other hand the earlier something is done about it the better outcome for the child” said Graham Jefferies, Seniors Captain.

Sunday 25th April : Marlborough Past Captains Charity Shield.  Two cannon starts, 8.00 am and 1.00 pm.  Teams of 4, best 3 scores counted, full handicap applied – results : 1 st – Stuart Ross, Andy Young, Malcolm Bevan, Graham Rissone – 133; 2 nd – Jenny Swift, Richard Pickles, Paul Gosden, Kate Bowers – 126 and 3rd – Stuart Gash, Andy Green, Chris Ladd, Mike Condon – 123.

News from overseas, Marlborough's Emma Breen has been selected for the 2010 PBC Women's Golf All-Conference Team!

Forthcoming events :

ay 14th : The Marlborough Golf Club Social Committee's next event is the ‘Allo ‘Allo evening, naturally with a French menu but the highlight will no doubt be the performance by the members of the Social Committee when they provide the entertainment, scenes from the very successful TV show.  Should be a night to remember!
