Yorkshire's Charlotte Austwick (pictured) shot the low round of the day to become the leading English player at the Scottish junior open strokeplay championship at Dunfermline.

Charlotte, from Pike Hills, finished sixth overall after she scored a two-under par 70 in the final round. Her score was equalled only by the champion, Scotland's Kelsey MacDonald, who won the title for the third year in a row.

Charlotte had a roller-coaster ride over the front nine with a double bogey, a bogey and three birdies, but on the way home she played immaculate golf with seven pars and two birdies.

Charlotte, who won Flight Two at last year's English girls' championship, scored 79, 78, 70 in the tournament.

Nicola Rawlinson (Royal Birkdale) tied eighth (78, 77, 76). Emma Clegg (Clitheroe, 74, 84, 76) and Rachael Goodall (Heswall, 79, 76, 79) shared 12th place.
