Wales golfers ready for Europe

The Wales teams to take on the best in Europe have been selected, including the six man side to try and make the most of home advantage in Conwy in the European Amateur Team Championships.
The Ladies team will be looking to build on last season's tremendous Home Internationals victory, with Ping Ladies Order of Merit leader Tara Davies and second placed Rhian Wyn Thomas as the two key members.
There is also a place for rising star Amy Boulden, from Llandudno/Maesdu, for the event next month in Bled, Slovenia.
The men's team will be led by Welsh Amateur champion Ben Westgate and four-time Walker cup player Nigel Edwards.
The selection comes on the back of a good weekend for the Wales players at the St Andrews Links Trophy, with Rhys Enoch finishing third in his first event since returning from college in America.
Nigel Edwards was in a tie for 8 th while James Frazer, selected as a non-travelling reserve for Conwy, tied 11 th .
All the other members of the European Amateur Team Championships side made the cut, with Ben Westgate tied 20 th , Oliver Farr tied 25 th , Adam Runcie and Joe Vickery tied 29 th .
Runcie will be on home ground in Conwy, he is based a few miles along the North Wales coast at Abergele where his father Iain in the club professional.
