The Hertfordshire golfer caught the long-time tournament leader, 14-year-old twin Lisa Maguire, and took her into extra time after they tied on five-under par for the 54-holes of regulation play. But, after the players halved the first six play-off holes, Lisa birdied the seventh to win the title. She is already the Irish women's close champion.
Hannah, 21, a member at Mid-Herts and a successful college golfer at Baylor University in Texas, made a brilliant effort to capture the title. She was eight shots behind Lisa Maguire after 36 holes but made up the difference in final round, when the Irish youngster shot 75.
Hannah reached the matchplay stages of the recent ladies' British amateur championship and next week will play for Hertfordshire in their county match week team.
Before Hannah started her US college career she was a member of English Women's Golf Association squads.
