National County Card to support clubs through winter months
Golf clubs struggling to make ends meet during the credit crunch are being offered the chance to maximise their visitor levels and increase their revenues at no extra cost throughout winter.
National County Card (NCC) is giving private members clubs the opportunity to join just during the quieter winter period and receive all the benefits that the innovative scheme offers - and it is completely free.
More than 1,000 clubs across the UK, Europe and North America have signed up to NCC since it was launched at the start of the year including The Oxfordshire, Spain’s prestigious San Roque’s club and The Stadium Course in Sawgrass, Florida - home of The Tournament Players’ Championship.
And each UK private members club that enrols in NCC will receive their own tailor-made advertising campaign at a nearby driving range with the aim of increasing memberships and visitor levels.
“These are testing times for everyone across the country and nowhere is this truer than at golf clubs,” said Rob Sutton of National County Card.
“Unfortunately, winter is a time when clubs’ membership levels tend to drop off and this, coupled with the credit crunch, could mean that this winter is more difficult than most. This where NCC can help.
“We can provide a free membership recruitment advertising campaign to promote your club at a local proximity driving range and, as there are no contracts or minimum term, clubs can just join for the winter period if they want to.”
With around 400 partner-driving ranges, NCC can offer an advertising campaign within the proximity of most clubs in a bid to generate more income for them at no cost to the club.
And, in addition to extra visitors, enrolled clubs also receive £5 per card sold when their members buy a card to play at any of the worldwide clubs that have joined the scheme.
Sutton added: “Through our advertising we can reach around 1.8 million golfers. There are no costs to your club and the free advertising will enable clubs to reach thousands of potential new members and visitors.”
“Our campaign has proved very successful in bringing many enquiries and new members to UK clubs that have already enrolled in NCC and we would like as many clubs as possible to benefit.”
All members of private members clubs with a valid handicap certificate can buy a NCC card - which costs just £24.95. Click here for more details.
Designed specifically for private member golfers, golf clubs and to help bring new members into the game, holders can achieve major discounts on green fees when they play golf in the UK or abroad whether they are travelling on business, weekend breaks or holiday.
Over the first five months of this year alone, more than 1,000 clubs took the chance to get involved in the concept from all over the United Kingdom, mainland Spain, Mallorca, Tenerife, Portugal, Turkey, France, America and Canada.
Courses including The Oxfordshire, Goodwood, The Mere, Ashburnham, Castle Knock and Nefyn & District - regularly voted among the top 100 courses in the British Isles - have already signed up to NCC in the UK
And the exciting list of venues at home is matched abroad with all the courses in Portugal's Oceanico Group, 18 venues in Turkey's Belek region and two of the most famous courses in America - the Blue Monster at Doral, Florida, and the Stadium Course at Sawgrass.
