Sunday 16th November - New Lady Captain, Trish King's Drive-In
There was great support for Trish King when she took centre stage to start her Drive In competition. With a fabulous shot from the men's tee on the 10th into a stiff breeze, she drove straight down the middle with a perfect landing in the centre of the fairway!

The competition that followed was a three-ball bowmaker stableford (best two scores counting on each hole) which proved to be an ideal format for the friendly competition.
Over 70 players set out and despite some drizzly weather for the latter part of the game, everyone soldiered on and the winning teams were Bill Whatley (Trish's brother), Neil Patch and Cyril Larty with 84 points. Not to be outdone, the winning ladies team of Sue Jacomb, Ruth Hodgson and Mandy Conrad also came home with the same score.
My father Charles Whatley was captain here in 1983 said Trish and I am sure if he were alive today he would be very proud of me!

News from the Junior Section
Jack Hiscock, who like Emma Breen (currently studying in the US also) came up through our junior ranks, is making a great start to his scholarship at Bethany College, Kansas.
Having played four intercollegiate events the Bethany team have finished first in every one and has been ranked as the number one team in the region.
Individually Jack has played only three of the four due to a knee injury but his finishes have resulted in him being ranked the number one college golfer in the region which covers Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma!
Said Jack The fall semester has finished now, but it was a good one! With no more golf competitions until spring, I will just be working on my game on the practice ground and continuing the hard gym sessions coach has us working on! The education side of college is going OK too.
