Enter Europe's finest amateur golf tournament, The Matchplay Championship 2009/10

This is your chance to become a champion and play on one of the most spectacular courses in the world!

The Matchplay Championship is what every handicap golfer has been waiting for - the chance to become a Champion! All golfers like to win tournaments and, in these marvellous events, victory is something special.

With the elimination stages all played in the matchplay format, both tournaments (men's and mixed pairs) give golfers from across the UK and Eire the opportunity to win through to a Grand Final at the wonderful Marriott Taba Heights Resort in April/May 2010 (dates to be confirmed). Furthermore, coverage of the Regional Finals and the Grand Final will be shown on SKYSPORTS, further enhancing the profile of this fantastic amateur golf event.

How does the tournament work?

There are three events - two events for Mens Pairs (with CONGU Active handicaps, and with CONGU Non Active or Strokes Golf Handicaps) and one for Mixed Pairs (with CONGU Active handicaps). Entry costs just £40 per pair (€60 Eire).

Upon entering the tournament, you will also receive a GreenFree 2 for 1 voucher that entitles you to play your matches for half price at over 800 challenging courses throughout the UK & Ireland.

Pairs are drawn against others from their region and designated to play at home or away. Players are notified and given a date by which they must play that round and then inform the organisers of the result.

After the knockout stages and two regional finals (North and South), the winners from each region go on to play in the Grand Final at the fabulous Marriott Taba Heights Resort April/May 2010.

The Grand Final itinerary is simply wonderful, including all international flights to Egypt, a practice fourball round of golf, the 3 day competition (better-ball stableford format), seven nights of accommodation with breakfast and dinner included and the prize giving Gala Dinner.
